The U.S. counterterrorism operations that took place in a compound near Islamabad, the capital (city) of Pakistan, should be commended for its precision and timing.
The secrecy surrounding its action, put in place by the Obama administration, the CIA and other security branches, showed that covert plans were safer now than ever before, in that they were protected and securely kept under wraps until they were ready to be executed.
Not long ago, communication channels between the special forces were tenuous and laxed so much so that, the media and other information outlets could leak vital information to endanger some of the most critical and crucial actions planned to keep America safe, particularly, from terrorism.
9/11 should not have happened, but it did; and as a result, the complacency that existed after the first WTC bombing would have developed into a complete available vacuum for news vendors of all types.
Nevertheless, thanks to the Bush government, a situation which could have been taken advantage of by high level news reporters and correspondents, was averted.
It (Sept. 11) was a wake up call for America to be more vigilant of its security and to properly safeguard its interests both at home and abroad; and so, there have been no attacks since then. Yet, the underwear Christmas bomber and other attempts were reminders that there were those who would still do harm to America, if given the chance.
It was such a momentous occasion last night , when President Obama announced from the White House that the chief protagonist and perpetrator of the most heinous crime on the American mainland was dead.
Osama Bin Laden, the atrocious leader of Al Qaeda has finally bitten the dust.
Americans were able to breathe a sigh of relief, after ten years of empty anticipation of his capture and trial for his part in that ominous and despicable terrorists act on the morning, when they saw the twin towers of the erstwhile World Trade Center, toppling down like decks of cards, and taking with them almost 3000 innocent lives to their untimely deaths. A horrible scene that would live in the minds of people all over the world.
For a moment, the news broadcast from CNN became unbelievable; and then people jumped out of their beds and began to rejoice and shout for joy. Others must have, obviously, cried their eyes out, as their hearts continued to bleed for family members who perished.
Even so, jubilation has come to America at last, for millions of people who have waited too long for this day to arrive, and therefore they should celebrate (it); in Washington, in New York, in Boston; and all across the nation, young men and women leaped in the air from sheer ecstasy.
It was propitious, for the day has come soon after, and at heels of the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in London; and the beatification of Pope John Paul 2 in Rome. Both of them were ceremonial for most people. What a great timing; what a good omen for the whole world at large, that U.S. Forces have killed Osama Bin Laden.

WHAT A WEDDING.
What happened in London, England, yesterday, was not just a piece of history in the making, but a lesson, by and large, to a world full of disasters, confusion, political upheavals and wars; for it to turn and strive for peace and harmony among all men and women.
The marriage between Prince William and Kate Middleton, was a unique ceremonial episode of peace, poured on a swollen storm of raging waters that would swallow everything standing in the way; which was how the conditions in the world looked like, just the day before.
It was an event designed to give hope to all mankind, stressing that there were better ways to deal with the world's problems.
It was witnessed by three quarters of the world's population, showing that, if nothing at all, we were all citizens of one planet, the earth.
If there was any credit to be given, it should go the British people as a whole, and particularly to the Royal Family; specifically to the Queen of England, Elizabeth 2.
The pomp, circumstance and majesty; tradition and excellence of culture; all brought together in one single place, boggled the mind; a ray of sanity, which was in excess of all the expectations a sad and unsettled world should expect.
It was a show that could only be put on by a nation founded on solid foundations and principles, etiquette and grace, whose sources could not be earthly.
In fact, if there was a heaven, what was seen yesterday in the City of London brought the whole human race close, if not closer to it.
A handsome prince and a breathtaking beautiful English debonaire young lady, joining hands in holy matrimony. Nothing could be better to make the Church of England proud; and for its part in the celebration of marriage as a sacred institution.
It was pageantry at its best; and not just any pageantry, but by all standards, a royal one at its very best.
There was joy that unfolded across all nations, and enfolded even people who were enemies; bringing a strange calmness in more than many hearts all around the world, from Australia to Zambia and all that came in between (including Russia and China; of course).
The whole world should be thankful to the British people; and to wish the new Royal couple, His Royal Highness Prince William and Her Royal Highness Princess Kate, a blissful marriage and a wonderful life together.
It (world) would cherish the occasion for many years to come. Thank you, Great Britain; thank you, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Enjoy your new title.

ENOUGH.
While everybody's world was changing, the GOP's front runner Donald Trump's tend to recede backwards to the days when innuendo was king; coupled with fabrication and anecdotal fallacies, used to arouse political fervor to sway public opinion.
The numerous and intense media exposure given him on an issue that has been rehashed over and over again, particularly in the Republican Party circles, was unbelievable and masquerading in nature.
He was doing so, knowing fully well that his actions were uncalled for, as there were more vital issues to deal with by the government of the day.
For several weeks, he has demanded that President Obama has no claim to the U.S. presidency, because he has been born in Kenya; and that he must produce a birth certificate to prove otherwise.
As if that was not enough, he has vilified Mr. Obama on national television programs, and called him, directly or indirectly, a liar right before the American people.
Now, low and behold, President Obama was born in Hawaii, and he has a long form birth certificate to prove it; and that made a mockery of the "birther movement" that has for so long given support and solace to the nefarious allegation that the President of the United States of America was not a hundred percent American.
This bogus organ has nothing, but the irascible appearance of the old racist, fear mongering groups that have existed for so many years, and whose sole aim was to bring down every black American (sorry, African American), who has fought so hard to acquire any type of prominent status in society; and to deprive him of the slightest respect that he was due.
Well, many people liked Mr. Donald Trump, in spite of his mendacious attitude about how much he was worth or not worth; and it would be a kind of honor for him to rise to the occasion of leading the Republican Party into the future, if that should occur.
His not yet so clear ambition about his political aspirations has made many New Yorkers proud, if it was for no other reason than just for him to be a "home grown boy".
Yet, should it be the birther group that he should align himself with to get to where he wanted to go? I doubt it; because in doing so, he was creating a sizable baggage for himself.
Their (birthers) ideology was not what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke about, which undoubtedly pointed America in the right direction; the tolerance of people, no matter what their color.
No one, in his right mind could picture Mr. Trump carrying the banner for a bunch of
ignoramuses, who could never, never get through their thick skulls that all men were created equal.
What was inside a person was what mattered, more so than what was showing on the outside of him (or her).
From now on, he should assume the notion that he owed President Obama an apology, for making negative remarks, and for saying what was not truthful about him; as well as for all the unnecessary rage he has caused the whole country. Also, for being so delusively divisive. The whole rigmarole was politically unhealthy, and therefore it has to stop somewhere, Mr. Trump.

TWO DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES.
GENTLE AND KIND.
The notion that "all men are created equal" rings a resounding bell throughout, and to all and sundry in America today. As the nation stands on the verge of a recovery from its economic woes of the past, we find politicians who are determined to stop the wheels of progress toward that lofty goal; by sticking to dogma, which in itself is not a bad thing, unless it is done radically, and without a modicum of compassion for other people, as one Congressman seems to be doing.
As the economic plans are laid out by both sides, to fight a humongous deficit, and to bring about a budget that will work for a better fiscal state of correctness, nationally, of course; we find one set of argument on the side of money being the focus of attention, and another set of opinion, on the other side, leaning favorably on consideration for the impoverished and the disadvantaged; a cause which is being advocated by President Barack Obama.
In other words, the two pictures that have been presented just these past few weeks, are from two different perspectives, although they both aim to extricate America from the grip of disaster or what everybody deems catastrophic, in terms of future prosperity that the people deserve to have and to expect for their children and grand children. They are also showing that the mores that must be prevalent equally among all citizens seem to be embraced now only, even if superficially, by a large section of common people; and that the affluent share narrowly in them (mores), and only to a certain extent; among whom are our influential Congressmen (and Congresswomen)."No sympathy for anyone; let's go get it straightened out,"; they say in private.
Others see mercy as tilting to one side; and if so, placing many of us at the whim and caprice of those in powerful places to do as they wish with our lives, by introducing bills on the floor of Congress that will dramatically be damaging toward even the weak and the fragile among us, meaning specifically, the sick and the elderly.
The word "cut" has been brandished so much over our heads, its use has become part of ordinary vocabulary in conversations going on in every household, as if it does not stand for anything else, except to save America's financial problems from getting worse. If so, then it does stand for something noble, and not for its usual tawdry meaning of causing pain. Thus, when you look deep down into it, the way it is being used in Washington D.C. these days, it stands for people inflicting pain and hardship on others, who are being targeted deliberately, and for no other reason, except that through no fault of theirs, they find themselves under unfortunate circumstances; making it to look like a case of Americans carrying out a dastardly act on fellow Americans.
If Social Security is "cut", people will die; if Medicare is cut, people will suffer, and if Medicaid is cut, many people's lives will be affected in any number of negative ways; if education funding is cut, children will lose many opportunities, because they lack preparation for them; and yet, for the sake of financial responsibility, as being the excuse, these programs are being threatened. They must be cut, irrespective of the outcome. They must be "cut" at the expense of the poor, the needy and those who can least afford to fend for themselves in society. It is a necessity to cut it to combat the spiraling national debt; they tinglingly tell us. However, the question is, does reality make all that possible?
The word "spending" too is being tarnished quite a great deal lately; and we see that the tea party movement will not be gaining momentum in any way, if it is not used as a tool to be critical of the Obama administration. Its membership by and large believe that taxpayer money is being distributed behind their back, particularly, to people who do not look like them; and that President Barack Obama is responsible; he is the one doing the distribution; and so his name has become synonymous with spending. They never forget to mention his "economic stimulus."; however, they never say what he is spending the money on.
We all are aware of the two wars that he has inherited; and soon, there will be another one to get American resources to become involved in, if he is not careful. National security, the Military, The State Department; and the current upheavals in the Middle East, etc. Lavish spending? They all cost money; don't they?
When there is a picture on FOX News television, showing people lining up to receive money in Detroit, that alone has to be enough to fuel people's anger; and as such, attracting hate groups to come together under one umbrella; and the tea party movement seems to be at the head, as well as at the bottom of all that anger. There is so much rage among them, you can "cut" it with a knife.
Yet, that distribution portrayal is not at all true. The actual reason being that his economic policies cover a wide range of topics; managerial and otherwise, from dealing with a frail car making industry to the country's infrastructure, with bridges and tunnels coming apart and falling down. There is so much urban blight, rural decay and common disrepair all around. He, as President, must have a plan that is extensive and effective to deal with them. Without that the transportation industry will be crippled, and it will come to a screeching halt; unemployment will become worse than it is now; and on and on; but because of these same policies that the stimulus money is being directed to undertake, there are signs and indications that things will change, if they are given the chance. The stimulus spending, directly or indirectly, is saving jobs, as well as creating them. In other words, his policies are working, in spite of all the obstacles that are being put in his way.
Call it deficit spending, stimulus spending, or whatever; it is not going to waste, as we have been asked by media and political pundits to visualize. It is always the end product that really counts; but do they want you to realize that? I doubt it.
Many States are using it to prop up sensitive programs; and in some places, there will not be any economic stability or growth, if it is not for what some people assume to be "a gigantic bail out venture" that is being put in place to assist them to emerge from the state of affairs that they find themselves in; although they are collectively considered to be comparable to the Great depression of the 1930s, that help is not being appreciated in some circles. Yet, even Wall Street continues to benefit from TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program); so, what else is new?
Truly, that is where taxpayer money is going; and the people who are liable to know better, and to help in espousing the facts of the matter are Members of Congress, of which Republican Paul Ryan is prominent. However, reactionary attitude, insane loyalty and party affiliation compel him to disregard the truth; and as a result, he attempts to implement something so drastically different, which will do nothing but hurt many people, just because they are poor.
His plan involves the curtailment of almost all federal government subsidies and social entitlements. By slashing them, he will save $6 Trillion Dollars over ten years; and also save posterity from paying for the mess being created by present day people. The whole thing is pure hype and obstinate rhetoric; and he knows it. At least, the President's plan is more humane and practical; and he (Mr. Ryan) cannot compare his (plan) to it. The twain shall never meet (I am paraphrasing "Never shall the twain meet."; so forgive me, please).
That brings me back to "all men" being created equal; and do not get me wrong, for I do believe that is as factual as night and day; but must we, as individuals, think so differently; with some given to callousness, and others kind-heartedness? Must we be so insensitive and close eyes to other peoples' needs, or be gentle and kind to our fellow men? Congressman Paul Ryan tends to go with the former; but I can see President Obama holding on to his guns and choosing the latter.

The whole thing is pure hype and obstinate rhetoric; and he knows it. At least, the President's plan is more humane and practical; and he (Mr. Ryan) cannot compare his (plan) to it. The twain shall never meet (I am paraphrasing "Never shall the twain meet."; so forgive me, please).
That brings me back to "all men" being created equal; and do not get me wrong, for I do believe that is as factual as night and day; but must we, as individuals, think so differently; with some given to callousness, and others kind-heartedness? Must we be so insensitive and close eyes to other peoples' needs, or be gentle and kind to our fellow men? Congressman Paul Ryan tends to go with the former; but I can see President Obama holding on to his guns and choosing the latter.

SOCIETY AND HISTORY.
Experimentation...
Scientist?
Whoever or whatever put us down here is experimenting with us, undoubtedly. In recent months, society has seen so much; such as the earthquakes in Haiti and New Zealand; the political upheavals in Egypt and the Arab world in general; and presently, in Japan.
It, Japan, is suffering in a humongous way; first, the earthquake, then the Tsunami; and now, the nuclear power plants there, affected by these natural disasters, are beginning to crumble; which will only make the situation there even worse. There is already devastation everywhere you turn; with the infrastructure in complete shambles. Transportation is practically nil; only the movement of emergency vehicles are seen going to and fro.
The International community is doing its utmost to help. The United States and other European countries sending aid; food, water, medicine and clothing, as well as makeshift shelter, which is needed more than anything else. Where small homes once occupied, everything has been swept away, leaving just pools of water standing in their place. The economy of the country is completely washed out, and real money is of no use at the moment there.
In all that, the human factor has to be considered first. Families have been split suddenly, and death surrounds the people, with the death toll rising every second. Thousands are missing and unaccounted for; and the search for survivors are being carried out, with the hope that there will be anymore (people) who are alive to be pulled out of the horrible mess. The air is polluted, and breathing is impossible without masks; the bad smell and the stench of human and animal carcasses being so stiff in the atmosphere to make you want to puke each minute. The aftershocks that rattle one to the core of the bones in the body are still being experienced.
The radiation poisoning from the fractured nuclear plants, has filled facilities set up for health problems, with the injured and the fragile; children, the aged, those who are still in shock. Where a hospital happens to exist, the doctors and other hospital personnel are being overwhelmed, having to fill mortuaries with more dead bodies, and no room or space is left for anything else.
The government is doing its best to handle the very awful condition with much alacrity; but then, what can the authorities really do? They can only look on it (condition) in awe, judging from the vastness of the destruction facing them; for it is going to last for years; and as such, depleting all their resources, monetary and otherwise. They have lost control of everyday living of their people.
World events are no more remote, due to Television and the Internet. The images we are seeing from places like Libya, Iran, Egypt; and more so, Japan, make them (images) seem so close to home, you must be crazy to think that they are happening from afar. Everything seems to be under a microscope; our microscope; as if we all are watching an ongoing and a protracted experiment.
Speaking about "experiment"; the dinosaurs, for all intents and purposes, were experimented with. So was the Neanderthal man; and they have all disappeared from the surface of the earth; and so would we. We would go, and something else would follow.
However, if we are being under an experiment, as the dinosaurs and the Neanderthal, will not that mean (that) there is the greatest scientist of all universal time somewhere? Think about it.
